Sega Dreamcast game in original box, 'Phantasy Star Online', in original plastic wrapping (unopened).
Phantasy Star Online is often cited as the first true online role-playing game for consoles. This was made possible by the SEGA Dreamcast's connectivity and modular modem. The game was created by the SEGA team behind Chu Chu Rocket, the first online game for the console. The team used what they had learnt to create Phantasy Star Online, based off of a pre-existing intellectual property and video game series. Players could team up with up to three others online and paid for online play through their telephone and internet service provider.
