Letter dated 24 June 2020 confirming Lisa Syne's volunteering at the Royal Free Hampstead Gown Factory, identifying Lisa as a key worker and able to travel during a time of national lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020

During the first national lockdown, people were only allowed to leave their homes for limited reasons - for essential supplies and medication, to exercise once a day, and to go to work, if someone could not work from home. The other reason was to provide volunteering or help. Lisa was one of 614 volunteers who made surgical gowns at the Royal Free Hampstead Gown Factory. During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Personal Protect Equipment (PPE) was the only way for healthcare workers to protect themselves. A shortage of PPE dominated the first UK lockdown, with many key workers having to adapt existing materials, or rely on volunteer pools. The self-titled Hampstead Gown Factory, based at Wac Arts in Hampstead, began making gowns from surgical drapes in April 2020 and by the time they closed in August 2020, 50,000 gowns were made.
