A4 letter sent to Lambeth residents dated 6 November 2020 as the second national lockdown started with new rules and advice in place, advice to support mental health and wellbeing, and information on coronavirus symptoms and how to access a test

The second national lockdown in the United Kingdom began on 5 November 2020 after being announced 6 days earlier. Announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the national lockdown aimed to prevent a “medical and moral disaster” for the NHS as COVID-19 cases were rising rapidly. People could only leave home for education, work if they could not work from home, exercise, medical reasons or to escape injury or harm, shopping for essentials or to provide care. Single adult households could still form support bubbles. Non-essential shops, venues, pubs, bars and restaurants were all closed.

This leaflet gives advice on mental wellbeing, stay at home activities and how to access a test if you showed the signs of COVID -10 – a high temperature or fever, a new and continuous cough or a loss of smell or taste. The lockdown lasted until 2 December when the tiered system returned with each area having their own alert level and restrictions.
