A5 leaflet, 'COVID-19 - Waiting after your COVID-19 vaccination', UK Health Security Agency and NHS, product code C21AAEN 2p 1M, December 2021 (APS), version 1, 2021
Up until December 2021, anyone receiving a dose COVID-19 vaccine were asked to wait for 15 minutes after their vaccination. This was to check for any serious allergic reactions to the vaccinations. However, after a year of vaccinations and the need to accelerate the booster programme due to the Omicron variant, the wait time was suspended. This was on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, Medicine Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation. Anyone with a history of allergies was advised to talk to their healthcare provider. However, people were advised not to drive for 15 minutes after their vaccine dose due to the risk of fainting. The leaflet advises on allergic symptoms and gives a QR code to report any suspected side effects to the Yellow Card website, run by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
