A5 leaflet, 'A guide to the COVID-19 autumn booster', UK Health Security Agency and NHS, product code C22AUBEN 1p 10M AUG 2022 (APS), 2022
In autumn 2022, people over 50 years of age, residents in case homes for older people, health and social care workers and anyone aged over 5 years old and at higher risk of COVID-19 were offered a booster COVID-19 vaccine. Booster doses were either Pfizer/BioNtech or Moderna. Both were combinations of half a dose of the previous vaccine and a half dose against the variant, called Omicron. This variant spread more easily but according to data can cause reinfection, but sometimes less severely. Vaccination boosters are one way to prevent or lessen the impact of a COVID-19 infection.
The leaflet also explains the potential side effects and gives a QR code to report any suspected side effects to the Yellow Card website, run by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
