10 page activity pack for August 2020 sent by Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent, on the theme of friendship containing a letter dated July 2020, craft activity making a face covering, recipes for coconut chickpea curry, vegetable lasagne, advice on wellbeing, exercises, blank questionnaire on activity packs, wordsearches, crossword, and addressed envelope to AGE UK HHM Townfeld, compiled by Social Wellbeing team, with brown postal envelope, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020
Beginning in summer 2020, the Social Wellbeing Team at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent announced the start of their support package through monthly activity packs.
"One of the hardest sacrifices we have had to endure is to be separated from our loved ones and friendship circles."
The second pack on the theme of friendship offered advice on how to make a face covering. In England face coverings were first advised in May 2020, followed by mandatory wearing in June 2020 on public transport, unless exempt. Face covering rules were widened to most public places by August 2020. Lockdown rules were also starting to lift as this time and people were encouraged to go for walk and meet others. The letter apologised for not including a feedback envelope promised in the first pack.
Each had a theme and related puzzles, recipes, information sheets, colouring in and ways to communicate with messages boards by post. Realising that many of their local community might struggle with or not have access to digital communication, packs were posted and offers of help with WhatsApp and Zoom were offered.
