6 page activity pack for February 2021 sent by Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent, on the theme of new beginnings, with letter dated 26 January 2021, recipes for chicken and vegetable soup and lentil and vegetable soup, information on positive thinking, information on the vaccine roll out, exercises, wordsearch, crossword and a poster about Big Energy Saving Winter, compiled by Social Wellbeing team, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020
Beginning in summer 2020, the Social Wellbeing Team at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent announced the start of their support package through monthly activity packs.
The eighth pack begins with a message of home after a challenging 2020. The theme of new beginnings was picked to reflect on what 2021 might bring including the easing of the third national lockdown, spring arriving, daylight hours getting longer, COVID-19 vaccines being rolled out, and being reunited with family and friends.
"Whilst we are waiting for matters to progress, we must do our best to stay active, keep in touch with friends, set daily goals and let others know we are struggling." The letter stresses that talking about feelings is not a weakness but a strength. “Every single one of you has talents that makes you valued for others."
Each pack had a theme and related puzzles, recipes, information sheets, colouring in and ways to communicate with messages boards by post. Realising that many of their local community might struggle with or not have access to digital communication, packs were posted and offers of help with WhatsApp and Zoom were offered.
