10 page activity pack for spring 2021 sent by Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent on the theme of spring and celebrating International Women’s Day and St Patrick’s Day, containing a letter dated March 2021, information highlighting International Women’s Day, craft activity making garden markers, recipes for traditional Easter biscuits and pea and mint soup, puzzles, seated yoga activities, leaflet for online asthma and diabetes workshop, compiled by Social Wellbeing team, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021
Beginning in summer 2020, the Social Wellbeing Team at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent announced the start of their support package through monthly activity packs.
The tenth pack announced a graduated return to face to face meetings from July onwards as part of the UK government’s roadmap. The letter also celebrated International Women’s Day and St Patrick’s Day and acknowledges that although progress has been made toward equality, disadvantages still remain. “We all have a duty to challenge this as representation in leadership leads to better, stronger and in business, more profitable outcomes. The global influence of Ireland is also acknowledged and its history. Many people receiving this pack attended the Age UK Irish Club for people of Irish descent.
The letter also reminded people about the 2021 census and the support centre that was being opened for pre-booked appointments.
Each pack had a theme and related puzzles, recipes, information sheets, colouring in and ways to communicate with messages boards by post. Realising that many of their local community might struggle with or not have access to digital communication, packs were posted and offers of help with WhatsApp and Zoom were offered.
