Beginning in summer 2020, the Social Wellbeing Team at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent announced the start of their support package through monthly activity packs.
The eleventh pack opens with the hope for opening in early July to once again to meet face to face. The theme of culture was picked as "everyday people all over the world celebrate their cultural heritage, simply by living their lives in a way that embodies who they are and where they come from." The letter also celebrated World Heritage Day. After the success of the first virtual coffee morning on 17 March, St Patrick’s Day, a second was held at the end of April. This was for those who pre-pandemic attended the Irish Club (Failte). Generally, all of the participants were of Irish descent.
Each pack had a theme and related puzzles, recipes, information sheets, colouring in and ways to communicate with messages boards by post. Realising that many of their local community might struggle with or not have access to digital communication, packs were posted and offers of help with WhatsApp and Zoom were offered.
