8 page activity pack for July 2021 sent by Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent, containing a letter dated July 2021, images of summer in Ireland, colouring in sheet, crossword, wordsearch, exercises to improve mobility, recipes for colcannon and champ, with brown postal envelope, compiled by Social Wellbeing team, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021
Beginning in summer 2020, the Social Wellbeing Team at Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent announced the start of their support package through monthly activity packs.
The thirteenth pack had details of Zoom coffee mornings for those that could join in from home. Digital Inclusion sessions were also announced which help people to get set up with various devices in person – laptops, smartphones and iPads. The delayed Olympic Games from 2020 were also due to start, so the letter finishes with cheering on Team Ireland. Many people receiving these packs attended the Irish Club pre-pandemic. Many of the packs had elements of Irish culture and traditions.
Each pack had a theme and related puzzles, recipes, information sheets, colouring in and ways to communicate with messages boards by post. Realising that many of their local community might struggle with or not have access to digital communication, packs were posted and offers of help with WhatsApp and Zoom were offered.
