Roundup Ready Soybeans baseball cap

Hat, baseball cap in white and green with Monsanto's 'Roundup Ready Soybeans' trademark on the front. Made for Monsanto by J. G. Rebbe & Associates, Ballwin, Missouri, 1996-1999.

This baseball cap, featuring the logo “Roundup Ready Soybeans”, relates to the first commercial GM food technology. Introduced by Monsanto in 1996, Roundup Ready Soybeans has become one of the most planted crops in the world, contributing to the rise in use of the glyphosate based weedkiller Roundup. The hat belonged to an Illinois farmer, and is an example of how Monsanto marketed its technology through user endorsement.
