Book: Great Northern Railway Company. Report of the proceedings on the trials of Leopold Redpath and Chas. James Comyns Kent, for forgery, at the Central Criminal Court, on Friday 16th January, 1857, before Mr Baron Martin and Mr Justice Willes. London: Waterlow and Sons, 1857.

This book gives an account of one of the most significant examples of “white collar” crime in the railways. Redpath was a clerk working for the Great Northern Railway, who committed unprecedented fraud against the company, £220,000. He was a railway “Robin Hood” - with a significant proportion of the money he swindled, he spent on philanthropic causes. He was convicted and sent to Australia in 1858.
