Blood analysis print out belonging to Doreen Eggleton (married name Short) relating to her diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML), dated 17th January 2000. It shows what technical information patients were being issued with to monitor their condition.

Doreen Eggleton was diagnosed with a blood cancer called Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) in 1998. Blood analysis to measure components in blood, is an important way to monitor the disease and show whether treatments are working or not. This paper print out of the blood test results Doreen received in 2000, shows that the information given to patients to understand what was happening with their condition was very technical including graphs and measurements. It also showed that at the time her condition was getting worse. Doreen went on to become one of the patient's in the first UK clinical trial of the targeted therapy Glivec (imatinib) in 2001, a drug that was shown to improve the survival of patients with CML.
