Aardman Animation set from The Shaun the Sheep Movie
- maker:
- Aardman Animations Limited
Animation set made and used by Aardman Animations Limited for the film Shaun the Sheep Movie, 2015.
Since his first screen appearance in A Close Shave, Shaun the sheep has become one of Aardman’s most enduring and successful characters, with his own TV series. In 2015 he moved to the big screen and the big city, along with the other stop-motion animation residents of Mossy Bottom farm.
Some of the best-loved animated characters have been created by Aardman Animations – experts in stop-motion animation. This is a time-consuming process where a photograph is taken of the object, then it is moved slightly and photographed again. When the film is played back, the objects seem to move on their own. Stop motion is one of the most well-known animation methods and is still used, often in conjunction with newer digital techniques.
