Commemorative plaque from Freightliner Class 66 locomotive No 66526 "Driver Steve (George) Dunn" explaining background to locomotive name
This plaque accompanies a nameplate commemorating Steve Dunn, a driver for Freightliner who lost his life in the Great Heck rail crash of 28th February 2001.
It was fitted to Freightliner Class 66 No 66526, which received the name at a private ceremony at Eggborough Power Station on 31st August 2001. The plaque was removed along with the nameplate when the locomotive was scheduled for for transfer to Poland in 2023, where a new set of nameplates were fitted.
