A DIY, handmade incubator, with socket plug, for cell culture medium - the nutrient fluid which would be fed to the cells in the bioreactor, encouraging their duplication. The body of the incubator is made from 3D-printed plastic, while the transparent glass parts on the top and bottom are made from easily sourced mobile phone protection casing.
The Shojinmeat Project is a Japanese not for profit founded by tech entrepreneur Yuki Hanyu. It aims to improve access to cell-grown meat. The incubator for making growth medium from chicken eggs has been made using a phone screen protector and 3D-printed parts.
