LCD monitor system for marine ecology

Monitor, LCD video screen monitor and control system for on-boat underwater camera equipment, associated with University of Plymouth. Control system made by Bowtech Products Ltd., Aberdeen, UK, 2006-2008; monitor by Datavideo Technologies, Taipei, Taiwan, 2006-2008.

In 2008 fishing trawlers were banned in Lyme Bay, on England’s south coast, after years of industrial practices had damaged the marine ecosystem. The local fishing community has since been working with scientists to help its recovery and define sustainable levels for fishing. Marine ecologist Emma Sheehan took this underwater video camera equipment on fishing boats. On the screen she witnessed how the bay’s marine life and habitats began regenerating.
