Ceramic scraper or planer from Kyocera.

The Kyocera Corporation are a Japanese ceramics and electronics manufacturing company, founded in 1959. They specialise in ceramic products for a variety of applications. Their name is a portmanteau of 'Kyoto' the city where they were founded, and 'ceramics', their main product.

Ceramic is an appealing material for cutting tools and kitchen utensils as it is lightweight, easy to clean, does not rust, and will stay sharp for a long time. However, ceramic is more brittle than other commonly used materials such as stainless steel, and may chip or break when used on harder items.
