How can we understand ourselves and our brains? In neuroscience and medicine, brain scanning has become increasingly detailed and high tech. However, for artist Dryden Goodwin, there is a relationship between this science and his art. Just as brain scanning technology is used to explore and understand the brain, Dryden uses drawing to understand the world around him. He sees it as an act of exploration and speculation, that offers an insight into his subjects. Using drawing, photography and animation, Dryden creates anonymous portraits of strangers he sees in passing on the streets and on public transport.
