Vaginal speculum(?), chrome-plated steel and rubber, by Down-Meyer, in cardboard box, 1940-1960. Label on the inside of the box lid says, 'The rubber parts of this instrument must be kept free from grease, oils and acids. Wash in warm water with strong alkaline soap'.

Down Bros and Mayer and Phelps Limited have sold vaginal speculums since at least the 1890s.
