Part of Mackenzie's oesophagoscope, 2 heads, silver, probably British, second half 19th century, relic of Mackenzie

These tubes are passed down in a closed, or folded, position and are then opened out by the handle attached, so that the oesophagus is dilated, and an attached mirror is brought into position.
