Ballpoint pen, with black casing and white lettering advertising Timentin

Timentin is the brand name for an antibiotic used for infections caused by bacteria. It is a combination of a penicillin known as ticarcillin, and clavulanate.

The medicine was first made in the mid-1980s by Beecham, and then GlaxoSmithKlein, following a merger of the two companies.

Ballpoint pens are one form of advertising new medicines to healthcare professionals or at large scale trade shows.
