Model, scale 1:12, of a vertical windlass for anchor cables, used to prevent stress on cables, patented by Samuel Baxter, on wood base, unsigned, British, 1882-1898. The windlass is shown with a twin cylinder steam engine, cables, stockless anchors and hawsepipes.
