Glass jar containing tea leaves
Cylindrical, clear glass jar, sloping shoulders to neck with projecting rim. Ground glass stopper. Containing xerophytic leaves, similar to pine needles, used as a tea for various reasons by Mi'kmaq (Mi’kmaw, Micmac or L’nu, 'the people' in Mi’kmaq) and Innu (previously catalogued as 'Montagnais') First Nations. Label, handwritten in ink, reads 'Labrador Tea, Ledum Palustra / 1) to purify the blood, and in case / of chills. / Montagnais / 2) tea made that is generally beneficial to the system / (3312) Micmac Montagnais'
