A laryngoscope assists the medical inspection of the throat and larynx. This laryngoscope is mounted in a spectacle frame. A leather bridge is added for comfort. These are personal relics of renowned physician Sir Thomas Lauder Brunton (1844-1916). He advanced research in pharmacology across Europe. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1874. Brunton received his knighthood in 1900 and a baronetcy in 1908.
