This fire engine was in active service from 1958 to 1973, and demonstrates contemporary changes in fire fighting technology. In particular, new materials such as aluminium and heavy plastic were used as an added safety measure. Other features - such as the position of the steering wheel - proved inconvenient and were adjusted in future models.

This engine was used by Middlesex Fire Service until it was retired, and later became a feature at fundraising events for the Fire Service Benevolent Fund.
