Electrocardiography is a bedside technique for examining the heart. This portable electrocardiograph was made by Cambridge Medical Instruments. It is seen with the transducers used to generate high frequency sound waves. These were placed on the patient’s chest. The echoes produced by reflection from the heart created a characteristic trace on the screen. A permanent trace could also be produced onto paper.
