Originally started in 1937, as Foster and Seddon with premises in Salford. The company became Seddon Lorries in 1947 before moving to the Woodstock factory the following year.

In 1970 the company acquired Atkinson and became known as Seddon-Atkinson, before being acquired itself by International Harvester in 1974.
