Ferranti International established its Container Handling Division as a subsidiary company of Ferranti Instrumentation in 1976. Ferranti Instrumentation Ltd was itself part of Ferranti International plc. The Chairman of the Container Handling division in 1989 was H. Barton. Container Handling was responsible for the marketing and support for Ferranti container handling equipment, on-load tapchangers and control equipment.
