Shell-Mex Limited

Shell needed to have more outlets to sell its petroleum and oil products. After the First World War it acquired the Bowring Petroleum Co which controlled the Mex trade name. In 1921 there was a combining of the Shell Marketing Company and the Anglo-Mexican Petroleum Co which became known as Shell-Mex Ltd

In 1931 Shell-Mex and BP formed a joint marketing company to sell the oil and petroleum products of both companies and became Shell-Mex and BP Limited.
