J. S. Virtue and Company Limited

A publishing company founded by George Virtue in the 1820s. James Sprent Virtue took over his father’s business in 1855 and introduced a series of publications available in parts to subscribers. The subject of several of the publications concentrated on the works of various artists and national collections of art reproduced in the publications.
