Rupert M Kay worked as an industrial design engineer at Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co Ltd during the 1950s. During that period, he worked under Jack Howe in the Industrial Design Office. After retiring, he became a consultant at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. In his spare time he was an artist, known to have been active in 1973.
