Wilson, Anthony Howard 1950 - 2007

Founder of Factory Records along with Alan Erasmus. As well as creating the record label he went on to successfully launch the music career of several Manchester bands. He was also actively involved in other areas of the music business, a term he would not like as he saw Factory as a means of driving cultural change. He was also co-founder of the Hacienda night club and the Dry Bar.

He began his working life as a journalist working as a reporter for Granda Television and presented many cultural programmes as well as being one of the main anchors for the local news programme Granda Reports. Throughout his career he was always finding ways of promoting the Manchester music scene, so much so he became known as Mr Manchester.
