Platt Brothers (Sales) Ltd was created in 1946 to manage the marketing of textile machinery made at the works of Platt Brothers & Co Ltd, Howard Bullough Ltd and Dobson & Barlow Ltd. These companies had merged in 1931 under a controlling company the Textile Machinery Makers Limited of which Platt Brothers had a controlling interest.

All companies related to Platt Brothers & Co Ltd, including Platt Brothers (Sales) Ltd, merged to become Platt International in 1970.
