East Midlands Gas Board
The East Midlands Gas Board was established on 1st May 1949 as part of the nationalised gas industry, reporting the Ministry of Fuel and Power. It covered Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland and parts of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Staffordshire and the West Riding of Yorkshire. On 31st December 1972 it would be dissolved and became part the British Gas Corporation.
