Vaughan, Frederick (C.Eng., M.I.Mech.E., A.M.I.E.D.) 1934
Became an apprentice draughtsman at Mather & Platt Ltd in 1951 where he spent time learning the trade of a fitter in the first year before going on to train in the drawing office and on the production line before returning to the drawing office.
After serving his time as an apprentice he stayed on at the company first becoming a section leader before going on to work on special projects as well as looking at the overall process for dyeing and finishing processes in the textile industry. For the last eight years of his working for Mather & Platt he worked at the company's Radcliffe site prior to the company closing in 1984.
