SLR Consulting (UK) Ltd was part of SLR Consulting Limited, a global environmental consulting company, established as SECOR Limited in Aylesbury, Oxfordshire, in 1994 by Alan Sheppard, John Leeson and David Richards. The parent group changed its name from SECOR Limited to SLR Consulting Limited in 2000, following a management buy out. SLR Consulting Limited (UK) included archaeological consultation services in its portfolio and has carried out archaeological investigations of industrial sites in the North West of England.

Although SLR Consulting (UK) Ltd was dissolved in 2019, the parent company continued to operate, and by 2023 had offices in Europe, North America, Africa and Australasia.
