Harvey has received an affidavit from Mr Geddy in addition to 19 other named affidavits in favour of his appointment. Mr Blewett has only two affidavits. Harvey asks Trevithick to call on Davey to ask for an affidavit in his favour. He considers himself a more proper person due to the proximity of his foundry and because of a number of other objections to Reynold's appointment. Harvey also describes the profits to be made by Mr Fox and Mr Williams in relation to the Plymouth Breakwater. A 1/2d profit per ton for Trevithick would provide a total profit in excess of £4000 but Trevithick is warned not to give away anything to Fox and Williams until a bargain is reached. Harvey declines taking on a share in Nanterrow or any other new concern and recommends Trevithick to do likewise.

Letter relating to affidavits supporting Harvey's role as a manager
Urges Trevithick to return to Cornwall stating that a house occupied by I Harvey was available. Harvey again urges Jane to put her trust in Mr Blewett and accept Blewett's motives in pursuing Trevithick for money owed; Mr Blewett would advance money on Harvey's account for family purposes. Jane should not think hard of Harvey's refusal to advance any more money to Trevithick until risk was reduced by Trevithick's return to Corwall. The letter also notifies Jane of the death of Mrs Trevithick the previous Tuesday.

Harvey's concern over Trevithick's financial situation
Expresses concern that if Trevithick returns to business, his creditors could abandon him leaving Trevithick unable to pay his debts with the result that he may again succumb to illness. Mr Harvey states he will not pay Trevithick's debts as his duty is to provide for the family. Jane is encouraged to leave everything to Mr Blewett who would make money available for family purposes.
