Weale, James 1787 - 1838

(1787-1838), librarian and secretary to 1st Earl of Sheffield

James Weale, born in 1787 was employed was employed in Ireland from 1826 until his death, as Principal Clerk of the Crown Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues, with responsibility for the administration of tithes. Weale became secretary and librarian to John Holroys, afterwards the 1st Earl of Sheffield.

Weale married Susan Caroline (1796-1855) at Marylebone Church on the 18th November 1824, their son William Henry James Weale (1832-1917) was an art historian and antiquary. James Weale died in 1838 in Dublin.
