1931: Western National Omnibus Co, acquired a controlling interest in Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co Ltd; Western National was an associated company of National Omnibus and Transport Co, which was controlled by the Thomas Tilling Group.

1947: The company was nationalised but remained a legal entity.

1983: Resumes operation as private company and bus operator in Bristol as Bristol Omnibus Company Limited.

1999: Legal name changes to First Bristol Buses Limited.

2003: Renamed First Somerset & Avon Limited.
