Coal mining company, Warwickshire, c1729-1947

Haunchwood Colliery was producing coal from c1729. It was previously owned by the Nowell family but was taken over in the 1880s by Sir Alfred Hickman becoming Haunchwood Collieries Ltd. It was nationalised in 1947.
