Heron, Edward Thomas 1867 - 1949
E. T. Heron, film producer and publisher, founded the "Optical Lantern and Kinematograph Journal" in 1904. This subsequently became "The Kinematograph Weekly", the major British film industry trade journal. It ran under different title variants and publishers to 1971.
Heron was associated with many of the early film pioneers such as Thomas Edison, William Friese-Green, Louis Lumiere, George Eastman and Chalres Urban. As well as being a publisher, he was on the boards of a number of film production companies and went to Italy during the First World War for the British government in order to to organise the making of propaganda films.
