Davies, E. Arnold 1905 - 1902

E. Arnold Davies was a musician and Musical Director at Stirchley Empire, Birmingham.

He began playing violin as a young man, and made his concert debut at 14 playing a Medelssohn violin concerto at Birmingham Town Hall. He later became Musical Director at Stirchley Empire in Birmingham. After the advent of the "talkies" (films with sound), his job was made redundant and his began working for Cadburys at a buyer. He moved to Exeter around 1930 where Cadburys were opening a distribution depot, and he worked there until his death in 1964.

Davies kept his musical interests and played with many orchestras in the West of England. He was a co-founder and leader of the Exeter Municipal Orchestra from after world war two until shortly before his death.
