Gordon Andrews, an electrical engineer by profession, has several appliance design patents to his credit. He was a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, British Standards Institution microwave oven safety and cooking performance committees (1976 to 2001), the British Standards Society, Microwave Technologies Association (Technical Officer), AMPERE (Association for Microwave Power in Europe for Research and Education) and the UK Microwave Working Group, helping to harmonize food product heating procedures.

In 1983 Gordon established GAMA Microwave Technology to provide an independent industry source for supplying microwave appliance engineering design services, and practical food heating technology assistance. During the early 1990’s Gordon became involved with advanced combination oven developments and introduction of the even-heating, no-limitation, mode resonator microwave system; which is currently being used in consumer, commercial catering & bakery ovens, and recently introduced foodservice combination-steamer equipment.

In 2009, in conjunction with Heinz, Gordon launched the smallest microwave oven in the world - Beanzawave.
