Anthony Marriage was an architectural photographer and pioneer of telephotography. He studied at the University of Cambridge, after which he joined Kodak's research laboratory at Wealdstone. He spent his entire career at Kodak, ending up as Deputy Director of Research. During his time at Kodak, he conducted mathematical and theoretical research into the nature of grain, and the limits of sensitivity of emulsion. He also served on the council of the Royal Photographic Society from 1905 until 1938.

He retired from work in the 1970s. Outside work he was a passionate gardener. He died in 2000.
