Cedric Harold Flurscheim graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, and was a college apprentice at Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co Ltd between 1927 and 1929. Following his apprenticeship, he continued to work for the company, rising to the position of Assistant Chief Engineer and then Chief Engineer in the Switchgear Department. In 1953 he became Assistant Chief Electrical Engineer at the company.

He also helped to edit The Switchgear Handbook Vol.1 in 1953.
