Mitchell Hydraulics

Mitchell Hydraulics began the manufacture of aircraft, and aircraft engine, components in the 1950s and was acquired by Ferranti in 1979, as a key supplier of hydraulic and electro-mechanical assemblies used in submarine guidance and control.

Unitl 1989 the business occupied two sites, one in Woking, Surrey and a satellite premises located at Bournemouth. In late 1989 the two premises were consolidated into a new premises in Aldershot, Hampshire.

In 1990 Ferranti's Air Launcher business was incorporated into Mitchell Hydraulics.
