Unilever
Unilever is a British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company, headquartered in London. The company began with a British soap-maker company named Lever Brothers, and Dutch margarine manufacturer Margarine Unie. In 1930, Lever Brothers and Margarine Unie merged, creating the name Unilever. In the 1940s, Unilever widenedtheir business areas and expanded into the food and chemical manufacture industries.
In the 1980s Unilever underwent a significant restructuring, selling most of its subsidiary business to concentrate on foods, toiletries, detergents and special chemicals. Today, Unilever is one of the world’s most consumed home care, personal care and food brands, with products including Lipton, Knorr, Ben and Jerry, Walls, Surf, Sun, Radiant, Domestos, Ponds, Vaseline, Dove, Pepsodent, and Lynx. It has two main parenting companies, Unilever NV in Rotterdam and Unilever PLC in London.
