Omnibus Press
Omnibus Press is a subsidiary of Wise Music Group, formerly Music Sales Group. It was established in 1976 as a non-fiction publisher, its output complementing the sheet music published by Music Sales Group. Omnibus is now the world's largest specialist publisher of music-related books.
The decision to focus on music-related books came in 1983, when former Melody Maker journalist Chris Charlesworth became editor at Omnibus Press. Soon after, Omnibus acquired the publishing rights to music archivist Pete Frame’s Rock Family Trees.
Omnibus has published over 250 music-related books, including definitive biographies of Morrissey and Johnny Marr, Keith Moon, The Velvet Underground and Bob Marley, and a large number of Beatles-related books.
In 2006 Music Sales Group acquired Sanctuary Books, adding more music books to the Omnibus catalogue.
