Sight & Sound
Sight & Sound is an international film magazine published by the British Film Institute (BFI).
Sight & Sound was first published in 1932. The new BFI took on management of the magazine in 1934. From the 1930s to the 1950s and the 1960s to the 1990s, Sight & Sound was published quarterly. It briefly moved to monthly publication in the early 1950s.
Sight & Sound merged with the Monthly Film Bulletin, another BFI publication, in 1991 and permanently moved to monthly publication.
The magazine reviews all films released each month, including those with a limited (art house) release. It differs in this regard to most other film magazines which concentrate on films issued only on general release. Each review includes a full cast and crew credit list, a full plot synopsis.
